That negative finding matters because many county jail guides assume a mobile app exists. Third-Party Mugshot Limits
Third-party mugshot pages are not official Pitkin County records. They may be stale, incomplete, duplicated, or disconnected from the later court result. Do not use them as the primary source for a released-person photo, a release date, or a case outcome. For Pitkin County, the official route is stronger: PCSO Records for county booking photos, CDOC for state offender photos, CBI or local records for limited registry records, and court records for disposition.
Colorado has a commercial mugshot-removal policy history. Colorado FOIC reported on a 2014 law requiring commercial websites that charge to remove mugshots or identifying information to remove the information for free if the person was found innocent of the crime for which they were arrested. That is not a promise that every third-party image disappears automatically. It is a reminder to verify the official case result and follow the specific removal process for the publisher or custodian.
A stale commercial image can also miss the most important custody fact: whether the person was released to the community, transferred to CDOC, moved to another agency, or later cleared in court. Use third-party pages, if encountered, only as a prompt to check PCSO Records, CDOC, the court, or the registry source that actually controls the record. Mugshot Removal and Sealing
Sealing, expungement, juvenile status, victim-related protections, at-risk adult records, and active investigations can affect public access to booking records and related material. Pitkin County's records page says reports are reviewed before release and portions may be redacted where required by law.
